Dacic meets with Bruneian counterpart in Jakarta

JAKARTA - Serbian First Deputy PM and FM Ivica Dacic met with Bruneian FM Dato Erywan Pehin Yusof on the sidelines of the 43rd ASEAN summit in Jakarta on Monday to discuss bilateral cooperation.

They spoke about stepping up the political dialogue between Serbia and Brunei and exchanges of visits at high and the highest level to boost quality, mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries within bilateral and multilateral frameworks, the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

Dacic thanked his counterpart for Brunei's support to Serbia's years-long efforts to accede to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia and said Serbia had an interest in further strengthening of cooperation within that framework.

The parties expressed interest in promotion and development of economic cooperation, including boosting the volume of bilateral trade as well as development of cooperation in other areas of mutual interest, such as agriculture, education, sports, police affairs and the IT sector.
