BELGRADE - Serbian First Deputy PM and FM Ivica Dacic said on Thursday he did not support the idea of holding elections frequently but that he had nothing against accommodating those who were certain to lose in elections.
Speaking to the RTS, Dacic said he was an advocate of regular rather than frequent elections, and noted that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic had told the opposition many times he had no problem with elections being held whenever they wanted.
"Whenever elections may be held - and I do not know when they will be held or whether they will be held in the next few months or in the first few months of next year - it is all the same," he said.
He said the opposition had no right to obstruct the work of the parliament and act in an uncivilised manner.
Speaking about a continuation of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, Dacic said Vucic must look after state and national interests and take into account what was ahead for Serbia.
"The dialogue, which will be continued in Brussels next week, will be followed by a UN General Assembly session, where the president and I will meet with various statesmen. In total, there will certainly be over a hundred bilateral meetings with statesmen from all over the world," Dacic said.
