BELGRADE - The head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Petar Petkovic said on Friday Pristina PM Albin Kurti's statement that Kosovo-Metohija Serbs and Srpska lista must "suffer and pay" was very dangerous and that the threat demonstrated the true nature of Kurti's regime.
"Yesterday was a tough day in Brussels, talks were underway in impossible conditions because Kurti is refusing to establish a Community of Serb Municipalities. (EU foreign policy and security chief Josep) Borell said that openly yesterday and what is new is that, unlike in previous cases, when both sides were blamed after talks, yesterday we saw for the first time the most open stance of the EU, and even the US, that Kurti is responsible for yesterday's failure of dialogue," Petkovic said in an appearance on the RTS.
Despite a difficult day, Belgrade had a small reason for satisfaction because it was heard and seen clearly that it is not to blame and that it demonstrated constructiveness and accepted an EU proposal envisioning the establishment of the Community and work on an implementation plan, he said.
Besides refusing to establish the Community, Kurti also rejected an EU compromise proposal on normalisation of Belgrade-Pristina relations as well as a proposal on de-escalation in the north of Kosovo-Metohija, Petkovic said.
