BELGRADE, Sept 26 (Tanjug) - Serbian PM Ana Brnabic met with newly-appointed Cypriot Ambassador to Belgrade Andreas Fotiou on Tuesday, thanking him for Cyprus's consistent respect of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia.
Brnabic also thanked Cyprus for its principled position during a review of a request to launch the procedure of the so-called Kosovo's admission to the Council of Europe, the Serbian government said in a statement.
Welcoming the ambassador and wishing him a successful term in Belgrade, Brnabic said she believed bilateral relations between the two countries - based on traditional friendship, closeness and solidarity between the two peoples - would be advanced further through mutual efforts.
Brnabic noted an interest in advancement and strengthening of economic ties in view of the economic potentials of both countries.
Fotiou said he was confident bilateral ties would be advanced further during his tenure in Belgrade, including through meetings of a High Council for Serbia-Cyprus cooperation, and noted the significance of economic cooperation, investments and tourism.
