BELGRADE - The head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Petar Petkovic said on Tuesday Serbian state services were doing their job in the best possible way and that Belgrade knew everything about Pristina's plans and preparations and would do everything to protect Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija.
"We are ready to preserve peace, as well as to respond to any kind of threat coming from Pristina," Petkovic told the RTS.
He said there would be no more pogroms or "Operation Storms" against the Serbs and that they should know that Serbia stood with them and was ready to protect the lives of its people.
The Serbs are not attacking anyone and we do not want conflicts, but Pristina's PM Albin Kurti wants to attack unarmed Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija, Petkovic said.
He noted that barricades put up in the north of the province were a democratic means Serbs were using to voice their dissatisfaction over Kurti's terror they were subjected to on a daily basis.
