BELGRADE - Serbian FM Ivica Dacic met with Tunisia's new ambassador to Belgrade Imen Lazhili Amari on Friday, the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
Dacic noted the significance of the decades-long friendship and cooperation between Serbia and Tunisia and said the two countries had a rich and long history of relations and had last year marked the 65th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
The parties agreed that overall bilateral relations were close and friendly and that there was interest in further advancement of cooperation in many areas, above all, in the economy.
Dacic said he hoped he would soon have an opportunity to welcome his Tunisian counterpart Nabil Ammar in Belgrade.
Thanking Dacic for the warm welcome, Amari noted that she stood ready to contribute through active efforts to further advancement of bilateral cooperation, the statement also said.
