BELGRADE - Serbian Defence Minister Milos Vucevic said on Friday Serbia could be satisfied with an agreement that had led to the removal of barricades in the north of Kosovo-Metohija, but not overly so, because problems remained.
Speaking to Happy TV, Vucevic said life was still difficult for Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija and added that the Kosovo-Metohija knot had not been untied.
"It is good that, for the first time, or after a long period of time, the Serbs did not have to give anything and that Serbia did not have to give anything or diminish some of its rights, but was given some guarantees or some additional acts guaranteeing the security of Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija to some extent," Vucevic said.
But no one is under any illusion that things are ideal and that everything has been resolved, he said.
"I think we have achieved a small diplomatic victory. Two of our compatriots have been released. For the first time, we have been given acts whereby KFOR is bound to control entry of Kosovo forces to the north (of Kosovo-Metohija) and, of course, EU and US statements regarding the security and the survival of Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija," Vucevic said.
