BELGRADE - In a reaction to a statement by the chairman of the German Bundestag's foreign affairs committee Michael Roth, Movement of Socialists founder Aleksandar Vulin said on Thursday Roth would like to have an "occupation commander" in Serbia who would determine the outcome of elections.

"Whenever Germany speaks on behalf of Europe, that ends with a world war. Roth would like to have an occupation commander in Serbia who would determine electoral results. There is nothing new about that, except for Roth's statement that the EU has an obligation to interfere in the internal affairs of countries that want to join the EU. That is another proof why Serbia should not join the EU - in BRICS, no one interferes in anyone's internal affairs," Vulin said in a statement.

Previously, Roth told Nova the situation in Serbia was extremely worrying and that democracy was in danger, and added that, to many "committed Europeans and friends of the Western Balkans", Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic "and his regime are no longer dependable partners" and that there was no place in the EU for "Putin's servants."
