THE VATICAN - Serbia's Ambassador to the Vatican Sima Avramovic said on Monday the Holy See's position on the status of the so-called Kosovo absolutely remained unchanged.
Speaking to Tanjug following a statement by the president of the Pristina interim institutions about the so-called Kosovo opening a "special mission" to the Vatican, Avramovic said the statement was "pompous" and that it was, in fact, about a liaison office of the so called Kosovo.
The Serbian embassy in the Vatican held several discussions with officials of the Holy See last year and they clarified that this is about a liaison office, Avramovic said.
"Other states that do not recognise the so-called Kosovo also have liaison offices. It must be noted that a liaison officer does not have the status of a diplomat and will not have diplomatic immunity or privileges at the Holy See," Avramovic said.
