Stano: Pristina must urgently deliver on Serb municipalities

BRUSSELS - EU spokesperson Peter Stano said on Tuesday Pristina must urgently deliver on its commitment to form a Community of Serb Municipalities.

At a Brussels press briefing, Stano said that, if Pristina failed to deliver on that, it would not be seen as a positive sign of willingness to proceed "on the path of normalisation, which is now linked to progress of Kosovo on its EU accession path."

In response to a Tanjug query, he also said Thursday's meeting of the chief negotiators of Belgrade and Pristina would mainly focus on Pristina's ban on the Serbian dinar.

He added that the Community as such was not one of the main topics but was "omnipresent."

"It is present in every meeting, in all our interactions with Kosovo partners," he said, noting that EU leaders had demanded on several occasions that Pristina meet the commitment to form a Community of Serb Municipalities.
