BRUSSELS - EU spokesperson Peter Stano announced on Monday a new round of Belgrade-Pristina dialogue on finding a solution regarding Pristina's decision to ban the Serbian dinar in Kosovo-Metohija would take place in Brussels on Wednesday at chief negotiator level.
"The EU expects both parties to show flexibility and readiness to reach a compromise," Stano said at a press briefing.
“The EU special representative for Belgrade-Pristina dialogue (Miroslav Lajcak) has invited the chief negotiators from both sides to continue the discussions. They will meet on Wednesday here in Brussels and they will continue the discussions on finding a sustainable temporary solution for the people affected by the decision of the Kosovo central bank on cash operations," he said.
However, Stano noted that what was really needed in the dialogue was progress on implementation of the Ohrid Agreement and its implementation annex and added that the EU hoped the parties would act in a European spirit and reach the necessary compromise on the dinar issue.
