BELGRADE - The head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Petar Petkovic said on Friday a statement by EU spokesperson Peter Stano that "both sides should refrain from unilateral steps" demonstrated what a policy of double standards looked like.
Stano was responding to a Tanjug request to comment on Pristina's year-long ban on goods from central Serbia.
"That is what the EU policy of double standards looks like! Pristina makes an escalatory move and violates agreements, and then the EU calls on 'both sides' to show restraint. What exactly should Belgrade refrain from? From a request that our people have basic foodstuffs? From a request that Pristina respects agreements and enables free movement of goods, capital, people and services? Let me remind Mr Stano that those are the fundamental values of the EU, which he should be representing, except unless he has changed his employer," Petkovic wrote in a post on X.
