BELGRADE, Feb 26 (Tanjug) - Serbia's Tanjug News Agency and the Kazakh news agency Kazinform signed a contract on inter-agency cooperation on Thursday.
The contract was signed by Jovana Joksimovic, director of Tacno doo - the company that has acquired the Tanjug trademark following an ownership transformation - and Tlegen Abishev, deputy director for production affairs of the TV and radio complex of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is the owner of Kazinform.
Tanjug and Kazinform will establish cooperation to exchange news reports, video footage and photo materials.
The agencies will also exchange visits by journalists and other media experts.
Joksimovic said that, in view of Kazakhstan's geopolitical significance as a key Central Asian state, the exchange and cooperation with Kazinform would enrich Tanjug's news service and provide its subscribers with more information from an increasingly influential part of the world.
"This is another international agency that Tanjug has established cooperation with. Kazinform is the official state agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It is one of the most significant sources of information in the country and one of the oldest agencies in Central Asia," Joksimovic said.
"This way, Tanjug is also expanding its influence as a media outlet and reaffirming the editorial policy of providing information about global events and trends from the most relevant sources. Of course, through this cooperation, information about our country will also be reaching that part of the world more quickly," she noted.
