Badminton star Lin Dan joins team of EXPO 2027 Belgrade brand ambassadors

BELGRADE - Lin Dan, one of the greatest badminton players of all time, has recently joined the team of EXPO 2027 Belgrade brand ambassadors, which includes Hollywood actor Jackie Chan and retired sprinter Usain Bolt, the EXPO 2027 company announced on Tuesday.

EXPO 2027 brand ambassadors are chosen from among individuals whose work, achievements and international reputation are recognised around the world, as well as from among those who promote values reaching beyond the boundaries of their professions, it said in a statement.

They represent the idea that play is not just competition or entertainment, but a driver of development, cooperation, creativity and mutual understanding - for that reason, Lin Dan is a natural choice for this role, it also said.

As a two-time Olympic champion, a five-time world champion and an athlete whose name has for decades been synonymous with outstanding results, discipline and perseverance, Lin Dan has left an indelible mark in world sports, inspiring millions of people around the world, it said.

The specialised EXPO 2027 will be held from May 15 through August 15 2027 under the theme of Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All.

To date, 141 international participants have confirmed that they will take part in the event, which is expected to attract more than four million visitors.
