Tanjug signs contract with UAE's WAM news agency

BELGRADE - The Serbian Tanjug News Agency and the UAE's WAM news agency signed a contract on inter-agency cooperation on Monday.

It was signed by Tacno Director Manja Grcic and WAM Director Mohammad Jalal Al Rayssi during a Zoom session.

Tacno is the holder of Tanjug trademarks.

The signing was also attended by Tanjug Editor-in-Chief Jovana Joksimovic and Tanjug TV Executive Director Senka Tesic.

"This is a major step for us and we are very excited about our upcoming cooperation with a news agency from the UAE since we mostly cooperate with European agencies. I think it is the first agency outside of Europe that we will establish cooperation with," Grcic said.

She said the contract included cooperation at all levels and that the UAE was becoming a cultural and sports hub.

She noted that this was extremely important for Tanjug as it would be the only agencyin Serbia to have such cooperation.

"Thanks to cooperation with the UAE, we will have exclusive footage as well as interviews from all events that will take place in that country in the future," Grcic said.

Al Rayssi said he was very glad the two agencies had signed the contract.

He said he was greatly honoured to announce that Abu Dhabi would again host a Global Media Congress in November and added that he would be very pleased to see Tanjug attend this year.
