Serbia beat USA in football friendly

LOS ANGELES - The Serbia men's national football team, mostly comprised of Serbian Superliga players, defeated the USA 2-1 in a friendly match in Los Angeles on Thursday.

The Americans took the lead through a Brandon Vasquez goal in the 29th minute, but Luka Ilic equalised in the 43rd minute from a free kick after a foul on Dejan Joveljic, and team captain Veljko Simic scored the winner for Serbia in the 46th minute.

Serbia next face Lithuania and Montenegro in the EURO 2024 qualifiers in March.
