MELBOURNE - Serbia's top-ranked tennis player Novak Djokovic is through to the Australian Open final after defeating American Tommy Paul 7-5, 6-1, 6-2 on Friday.

Justifying the role of favourite against Paul, Djokovic won another match in Melbourne without losing a set.

He suffered his only blip of the tie at the end of the first set, when he let slip a 5-1 lead.

In a bid to claim his 10th career Australian Open title, Djokovic will face Stefanos Tsitsipas on Sunday.

The Greek defeated Russia's Karen Khachanov 3-1 in the first semi-final.

Djokovic has a 10-2 head-to-head record against Tsitsipas and also defeated him in the 2021 Roland Garros final after coming from two sets behind.

The prize money at the Australian Open is 53.3 mln dollars.
