BELGRADE - Serbian tennis ace Novak Djokovic officially reclaimed the ATP rankings top spot from Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz on Monday, starting his 374th week in the number one position after winning the Australian Open on Sunday.
Djokovic defeated Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3, 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-5) in the final to lift his 10th title in Melbourne.
The Serbian is now tied with Rafael Nadal of Spain at 22 career Grand Slam titles.
Djokovic now has 7,070 points in the ATP rankings, Alcaraz is in second with 6,730 and Tsitsipas in third with 6,195.
Norwegian Casper Ruud and Russian Andrey Rublev are in the fourth and the fifth position, respectively.
Nadal fell by four positions to the sixth place, while Felix Auger-Aliassime of Canada, Taylor Fritz of the US, Holger Rune of Denmark and Hubert Hurkacz of Poland round out the top ten.
