CORDOBA - The Serbia men's national football team suffered a 3-0 away defeat to European champions Spain in a UEFA Nations League Group A4 Match Day 4 game in Cordoba on Tuesday evening.
Aymeric Laporte (5 min), Alvaro Morata (65 min) and Alex Baena (77 min) provided the goals for Spain and Morata missed a penalty in the 54th minute.
Following a VAR check, Serbia defender Strahinja Pavlovic picked up a straight red card in the 77th minute after a foul on Mikel Oyarzabal, and Baena scored the third goal for Spain from the resulting free kick.
Spain, who had as many as 29 attempts on goal versus only three by Serbia, have secured a quarter-final berth in the UEFA Nations League, which they won last season.
Spain are on top of the group table with 10 points and are followed by Denmark with seven, Serbia with four and Switzerland with one point.
Serbia next face Switzerland away on November 15, with Denmark to host Spain.
