BELGRADE - Marko Jovanovic, a former captain of Serbian football club Partizan Belgrade, was named its caretaker head coach on Tuesday.
Jovanovic, 36, succeeds Savo Milosevic, who was dismissed on Monday after a little over two months at the helm of the first team.
Partizan have not announced how long Jovanovic, who does not have the required coaching licence to officially perform the role of head coach, would remain in the position, but he is certain to be in charge in Wednesday's home game against Radnicki Nis in the Serbian Superliga.
Jovanovic played for Partizan from 2007 to 2011 and in 2016, winning four league titles and four cups with the club.
