Djokovic beats Monfils to advance to Brisbane quarter-finals

BRISBANE - Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic is through to the quarter-finals of the Brisbane ATP tournament after beating Frenchman Gael Monfils 6-3, 6-3 on Thursday.

Djokovic, who won after an hour and 13 minutes of play, is now 20-0 head-to-head against Monfils.

On Friday, the Serbian will face American Reilly Opelka, who defeated Italian Matteo Arnaldi 7-6 (11-9), 7-6 (7-4) in the round of last 16.
