Stojanovic through to Australian Open final qualifying round

MELBOURNE - Serbian tennis player Nina Stojanovic is through to the Australian Open final qualifying round after beating world number 105 Robin Montgomery of the US 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 6-3 on Wednesday.

Stojanovic, who ranks 237th in the WTA rankings, won after two hours and 24 minutes of play.

The Serbian will next face world number 119 Sijia Wei of China.

In the men's singles, Serbia's Laslo Djere failed to reach the final qualifying round following a 6-4, 1-6, 7-5 defeat to Chilean Cristian Garin after two hours and 21 minutes of play.
