Kecmanovic beats Hurkacz to advance to Aussie Open third round

MELBOURNE - Serbian tennis player Miomir Kecmanovic is through to the Australian Open third round after defeating Pole Hubert Hurkacz 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 on Thursday.

Kecmanovic won after an hour and 48 minutes of play.

He will next face Dane Holger Rune, who defeated Italian Matteo Berrettini in the second round.

The all-Serbian duo of Aleksandra Krunic and Nina Stojanovic failed to qualify for the second round of the women's doubles event at the tournament after losing 6-2, 7-5 to Australians Kimberly Birrell and Olivia Gadecki.
