Djokovic beats Alcaraz to advance to Australian Open semi-finals

MELBOURNE - Serbia's top-ranked tennis player Novak Djokovic is through to the Australian Open semi-finals after defeating world number three Carlos Alcaraz of Spain 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 in the quarter-finals on Tuesday.

Djokovic, who ranks seventh in the ATP rankings, won after three hours and 35 minutes of play and is now 5-3 head-to-head against Alcaraz.

In his 48th career Grand Slam semi-final, Djokovic will face Germany's Alexander Zverev, who beat American Tommy Paul in the other quarter-final tie.
