Kecmanovic through to Miami Masters second round

MIAMI - Serbian tennis player Miomir Kecmanovic is through to the second round of the Miami Masters tournament after a 6-4, 6-4 win over American Aleksandar Kovacevic in the opening round on Wednesday.

Kecmanovic, who won after an hour and 33 minutes of play, will next face fifth seed Casper Ruud of Norway.

Earlier, Serbia's Hamad Medjedovic lost 7-5, 3-6, 7-5 to Australian Rinky Hijikata, who will face Serbian Novak Djokovic in the second round.

In the opening round of the women's singles event, Serbian Olga Danilovic lost 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 6-1 to American Hailey Baptiste.
