Danilovic advances to second round of Rome WTA tournament

ROME - Serbian tennis player Olga Danilovic is through to the second round of the Rome WTA tournament after a 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over Czech Katerina Siniakova on Wednesday evening.

Danilovic, who won after two hours and 41 minutes of play, will next face Chinese Qinwen Zheng.

At the Rome Masters ATP tournament, Serbia's Laslo Djere advanced to the second round after defeating Argentine Tomas Martin Etcheverry 6-3, 6-2 in the first round.

Djere will next play American Alex Michelsen.

Hamad Medjedovic suffered an early exit from the tournament after losing 6-4, 6-4 to Finn Otto Virtanen in the opening round.
