BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Wednesday evening the owner of Cypriot football club Pafos FC, Russian Sergey Lomakin, was keen to invest in Serbia's FK Loznica.
In an appearance on Prva TV, Vucic said he had spoken with Lomakin, who he noted was ready to take over at the Serbian club.
"Since we have those idiotic laws under which there are no privately-owned clubs and all of them are associations of citizens, the man spoke with me and accepted to get in even under these circumstances - before the law is changed - to show the people that he is able to help, even under these circumstances. Loznica have now been promoted to our second division, I think, and he wants them to play UEFA cups as early as in two to three years," Vucic said.
Lomakin is also the owner of Latvia's FC Riga.
