Djokovic overcomes Fritz at US Open to set up Alcaraz clash

NEW YORK - Serbia's top-ranked tennis player Novak Djokovic is through to the US Open semi-finals after a 6-3, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 win over American Taylor Fritz in the quarter-finals on Wednesday.

This was Djokovic's 11th consecutive victory against Fritz.

In a bid to qualify for his 11th career final at the tournament, Djokovic will next face Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, who defeated Czech Jiri Lehecka 3-0 in the quarter-finals.
