Krunic, Danilina through to Tokyo doubles quarter-finals

TOKYO - The Serbian-Kazakh duo of Aleksandra Krunic and Anna Danilina is through to the quarter-finals of the doubles event at the Tokyo WTA tournament after a 6-1, 6-3 victory over the Mexican-Indonesian pairing of Giuliana Olmos and Aldila Sutjiadi in the opening round on Tuesday.

Krunic and Danilina, who won after 62 minutes of play, will next face the winners of the tie between Nicole Melichar-Martinez (US)/Yifan Xu (China) and Eri Hozumi (Japan)/Fang-hsien Wu (Chinese Taipei).

The prize money at the Tokyo WTA tournament is 1,064,510 dollars.
