Krunic/Danilina through to Adelaide quarter-finals

ADELAIDE - The Serbian-Kazakh duo of Aleksandra Krunic and Anna Danilina are through to the doubles quarter-finals of the Adelaide WTA tournament after a 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 11-9 victory over the all-Czech pairing of Tereza Valentova and Marketa Vondrousova in the round of 16 on Monday.

Krunic and Danilina, who won after an hour and 40 minutes of play, will next face the Czech-Brazilian pairing of Marie Bouzkova and Luisa Stefani.

In the men's singles event in Adelaide, Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic suffered a 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 first-round defeat to Monegasque Valentin Vacherot after an hour and 27 minutes of play.
