Danilovic/Potapova through to Aussie Open doubles second round

MELBOURNE - The Serbian-Austrian pair of Olga Danilovic and Anastasia Potapova is through to the Australian Open women's doubles second round after a 6-3, 3-6, 6-0 victory over the Argentine-Belarusian duo of Solana Sierra and Iryna Shymanovich in the opening round on Tuesday.

Danilovic and Potapova will next face the winners of the tie between Su-Wei Hsieh/Jelena Ostapenko and Olivia Gedecki/Desirae Krawczyk.

In the women's singles event, Danilovic will play American Coco Gauff in the second round on Wednesday.

On the same day, Serbian Hamad Medjedovic will take on Australian Alex de Minaur in the second round of the men's singles event.
