Partizan Belgrade deny report of Stojakovic's dismissal

BELGRADE - Serbian football club Partizan Belgrade said on Thursday it had not dismissed head coach Nenad Stojakovic.

Earlier in the day, Sportklub reported that Partizan had parted ways with Stojakovic.

In a statement, the club said its board of directors had met to analyse the financial situation and that current sporting affairs had been discussed as well.

"The Board of Directors analysed all aspects of work, from the transfer window to the youth academy and the first team. During the discussion, Director General Danko Lazovic proposed a dismissal of the first team's head coach Nenad Stojakovic. The Board of Directors expressed the position that the current focus is on the next match against Radnik and that the topic would be discussed after that match," the statement said.
