MONTE CARLO - Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic will skip the Monte Carlo Masters due to injury, the tournament organisers announced on Instagram on Friday.
After missing the Miami Masters, Djokovic will thus also not be competing at the season's first clay-court Masters, to be played from April 4 through 12.
Djokovic, a two-time winner in Monte Carlo, is the second Top 10 player to cancel his participation in this season's edition of the tournament after American Taylor Fritz.
The Madrid Masters, scheduled for April 22-May 3, will be Djokovic's next opportunity to return to the court.
