Djokovic beats Gakhov to advance to Monte Carlo Masters third round

MONTE CARLO - Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the world number one in men's tennis, is through to the third round of the Monte Carlo Masters after defeating Russian Ivan Gakhov 7-6, 6-2 on Tuesday.

Djokovic won after an hour and 47 minutes of play.

On Thursday, the Serbian will face the winner of the all-Italian tie between Lorenzo Musetti and Luca Nardi.
