MADRID - Serbia's top-ranked tennis player Novak Djokovic will be playing at the upcoming Madrid Masters, the organisers announced on Wednesday.
After suffering an early exit from Indian Wells, Djokovic decided to skip the Miami and Monte Carlo Masters tournaments and is now set to return to the court in late April.
"Preparation, focus, and style. Novak Djokovic gets ready for the Mutua Madrid Open," the tournament organisers posted on social media networks.
The event will also feature Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, among others.
In last season's tournament, Djokovic lost to Italian Matteo Arnaldi in the second round.
To date, Djokovic has won the Madrid Masters three times, most recently in 2019.
The tournament will be played from April 22 through May 3 and the prize money is 8,235,540 euros.
