MADRID - Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic has officially withdrawn from the Madrid Masters tournament due to an injury that has also forced him to skip the Monte Carlo Masters.
"Madrid, unfortunately I won’t be able to compete at the Mutua Madrid Open this year. I’m continuing my recovery in order to be back soon. Hasta pronto! (See you soon!)," Djokovic posted on X.
The Rome Masters is now Djokovic's only remaining chance of playing at a clay court event before Roland Garros.
The Mutua Madrid Open will be held from April 20 to May 3.
