Lajovic advances to Madrid Masters second round

MADRID - Serbian tennis player Dusan Lajovic is through to the second round of the Madrid Masters tournament after a 6-3, 7-6 (7-1) first-round victory over Italian Lorenzo Sonego on Wednesday.

Lajovic, who won after an hour and 34 minutes of play, is now 3-3 head-to-head against Sonego.

The Serbian will next face Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech.

The prize money at the Madrid Masters is 8,235,540 euros.
