Medjedovic beats Royer to advance to Rome Masters second round

ROME - Serbian tennis player Hamad Medjedovic is through to the Rome Masters second round after a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Frenchman Valentin Royer in the opening round on Thursday evening.
Medjedovic won after an hour and 43 minutes of play.
He will next face Brazilian Joao Fonseca.
The prize money at the Rome Masters is 8,235,540 euros.
