Djokovic through to Roland Garros third round

PARIS - Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic is through to the Roland Garros third round after a 6-3, 6-2, 6-7 (7-9), 6-2 victory over Frenchman Valentin Royer in the second round on Wednesday.

Djokovic, who has three career Roland Garros titles, won after three hours and 47 minutes of play.

The Serbian will next play Brazilian Joao Fonseca. In the second round, Serbia's Hamad Medjedovic lost to Norwegian Casper Ruud 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 after two hours and five minutes of play.
