BELGRADE - The board of directors of the ABA basketball league announced on Thursday the regional competition would feature 20 clubs next season, including Cibona Zagreb, which will return to the fold after a one-season absence, and Slovan Bratislava, which will make a debut.

In view of the expansion of the league, the competition system for the 2026/27 season will be defined soon, an official statement said.

Last season, Split was relegated and Siroki Brijeg was promoted after winning the second-tier ABA 2 League.

The other teams are Partizan Belgrade, Red Star Belgrade, Spartak Subotica, Mega, FMP, Borac Cacak, Dubai, Buducnost Podgorica, Cluj-Napoca, Cedevita Olimpija, Bosna, Igokea, Zadar, Krka, Ilirija, Studentski centar and Vienna.

Dubai lifted its first-ever ABA League title last week after winning a best-of-five playoff final series against Partizan.
