Djokovic beats Wu to advance to Wimbledon second round

LONDON - Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic is through to the Wimbledon second round after a 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 victory over world number 102 Yibing Wu of China in the opening round on Monday evening.

Djokovic, who is in eight position in the ATP rankings, won after three hours and 12 minutes of play.

The Serbian will next face Greek Stefanos Tzitzipas, who defeated Frenchman Hugo Gaston in the first round.

Serbia's Teodora Kostovic is out of the women's singles event after a 6-2, 6-3 first-round defeat to world number one Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus after 65 minutes of play.
