Serbia outclasses Switzerland in FIBA World Cup 2027 qualifiers

FRIBOURG - The Serbia men's national basketball team outclassed Switzerland 97-73 in a FIBA World Cup 2027 European Qualifiers Group C game in Fribourg on Thursday evening.
With three wins and two losses, Serbia has now secured a berth in the second stage of the qualifiers.
Switzerland has five losses out of as many games.
The best three teams in the group will progress to the next qualifying stage.
Nikola Jokic led Serbia to victory with 22 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists, Nikola Jovic scored 17 points, Nikola Tanaskovic had 16 and Aleksa Avramovic and Stefan Momirovic added 13 and 11 points, respectively.
In the last game of the first qualifying stage, Serbia will play Bosnia and Herzegovina at Belgrade's Aleksandar Nikolic Hall on Sunday evening.
