Vojvodina lose 2-1 to Ferencvaros in home leg of UEFA Europa League qualifier

NOVI SAD - Serbian football club Vojvodina Novi Sad lost 2-1 at home to Hungary's Ferencvaros in the first leg of the two teams' UEFA Europa League first qualifying round match on Thursday evening.

In front of some 10,000 spectators at Novi Sad's Karadjordje Stadium, Kristoffer Zachariassen put the visitors in the lead in the ninth minute, Vojvodina equalised through a Toon Raemaekers own goal in the 45th minute, but Bamidele Yusuf - a former Vojvodina player - scored in the 86th minute to win the game for Ferencvaros.

The return leg in Budapest in scheduled for next Thursday.

The winner of the tie will play Dutch side Twente in the UEFA Europa League second qualifying round, with the loser to face Ajax in the UEFA Conference League second qualifying round.
