Djokovic confirms he will play at Cincinnati Masters

CINCINNATI - Serbia's top-ranked tennis player Novak Djokovic confirmed on Thursday he will be competing at the upcoming Cincinnati Masters.

After reaching the Wimbledon semi-finals and skipping the Montreal Masters, Djokovic will head to Ohio for his last test before the US Open.

"I'm happy to announce that I'm coming to Cincinnati Open this year, the first time since 2023, when I played one of the best of three finals of the Masters 1000 events in my career. Can't wait to come back and perform in front of you.

I'm very excited to see all the fans, tennis fans around the world, that are going to be present at that tournament. See you soon," Djokovic said in a statement for the official Cincinnati Open Instagram page.

The August 13-23 tournament will also feature Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev.

The prize money at the tournament is 9,415,725 dollars.

Djokovic has won the Cincinnati Masters three times in his career - in 2018, 2020 and 2023.
