Serbia's Medjedovic through to Wimbledon main draw

LONDON - Serbian tennis player Hamad Medjedovic is through to the Wimbledon main draw after defeating Briton Billy Harris 6-4, 7-6 (8-6), 6-4 in the third qualifying round on Thursday.

World number 156 Medjedovic won after two hours and ten minutes of play.

Medjedovic will thus make his second career appearance at a Grand Slam tournament.

He lost to American Marcos Giron 6-0, 6-2, 1-6, 6-0 in the Roland Garros first round this season.

Novak Djokovic, Miomir Kecmanovic, Laslo Djere and Dusan Lajovic are the other Serbians to feature in the main draw at Wimbledon.

The tournament will be held from July 3 through 16 and the draw ceremony is scheduled for June 30.
