Alcaraz beats Djokovic in Wimbledon final

LONDON - Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz has claimed the Wimbledon title by defeating Serbian Novak Djokovic 1-6, 7-6 (8-6), 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 in the final on Sunday.

The 20-year-old Spaniard won after nearly five hours of play.

The title is his first at Wimbledon and his second career Grand Slam title as he also won the US Open last season.

Alcaraz also stopped Djokovic from winning his fifth consecutive and eighth career Wimbledon title, keeping his Grand Slam tally at 23.
