PARIS - Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the world number one in men's tennis singles, was on Thursday drawn to play Frenchman Pierre-Hugues Herbert in the first round of the Roland Garros tournament.
World number 143 Herbert suffered a defeat in his only encounter with Djokovic to date at the 2013 Paris Masters.
The Serbian won the Roland Garros last season by defeating Norwegian Casper Ruud in the final.
Miomir Kecmanovic, Laslo Djere, Dusan Lajovic and Hamad Medjedovic will also be representing Serbia at this season's Roland Garros.
In the opening round, Lajovic will play Russian Roman Safiullin and Djere will take on German Daniel Altmaier, with Kecmanovic and Medjedovic to face qualifiers.
Roland Garros 2024 will be played from May 26 to June 9.
