Serbian construction permits up by 6 pct y-o-y in December 2024

BELGRADE – A total 2,661 construction permits were issued in Serbia in December 2024, which was a 6 pct rise relative to the same month of 2023.

According to figures released by the national statistical office RZS, 82.5 pct of the total permits were issued for buildings, while other structures made up the remaining 17.5 pct.

When it comes to permits for buildings alone, 82.3 pct were issued for residential buildings and 17.7 pct for non-residential buildings, the RZS said.

The highest construction activity is expected in the South Backa and the Belgrade districts - 16 pct of the planned value of new structures - and the Srem, Nisava, Macva and the South Banat districts follow with 12.7 pct, 6.2 pct, 6.0 pct and 5.9 pct, respectively.
