BELGRADE - Serbia had an employed population of 2.36 mln people in Q1 2025, according to figures released by the national statistical office.
In a statement, it said 1.89 mln of the total employed population worked for legal persons and that 420,295 were entrepreneurs, employees of entrepreneurs and self-employed people, while 47,133 people were registered as individual agricultural producers.
Year-on-year, the employed population was up by 314, the number of employees of legal persons was down by 1,428, or 0.1 pct, while the number of entrepreneurs, employees of entrepreneurs and self-employed people was up by 5,518, or 1.3 pct, and the number of registered individual agricultural producers declined by 3,776, or 7.4 pct.
Relative to the previous quarter, the total employed population was down by 13,471, or 0.6 pct, and the number of employees of legal persons fell by 10,044, or 0.5 pct.
The number of entrepreneurs, employees of entrepreneurs and self-employed people was down by 2,645 pct, or 0.6 pct, while the number of registered individual agricultural producers was down by 782, or 1.6 pct.
