Serbia registers 77.6 bln dinar budget deficit in January-October

BELGRADE - Between January and October this year, Serbia registered a 77.6 bln dinar budget deficit, which is 80.2 bln dinars better than a planned 157.8 bln deficit.

Revenues totalled 1,829.6 bln dinars, while expenditures stood at 1,907.2 bln dinars.

According to figures released by the Ministry of Finance, a 1.8 bln dinar deficit was registered in October alone.

October revenues totalled 193.2 bln dinars, while expenditures amounted to 195 bln dinars.

Tax revenues amounted to 166.6 bln dinars and were mostly comprised of VAT (90.3 bln), excise duties (38.1 bln) and corporate tax (17.6 bln).

Non-tax revenues amounted to 25.9 bln dinars and donations stood at 0.7 bln dinars.

In October, expenditures for employees totalled 51.4 bln dinars, transfers to the pension and disability insurance fund, the national health insurance fund, the military social insurance fund and the national employment service totalled 30.1 bln dinars, with subsidies at 13.2 bln dinars, capital expenditures at 35.8 bln, social protection at 18 bln, expenditures for goods and services at 18.3 bln dinars and repayment of interest at 16.3 bln dinars.

At general government level, a 73.5 bln dinar fiscal deficit and a 67.7 bln dinar primary fiscal surplus were registered in the first ten months of 2025, the ministry said.
